Welcome!  This page let’s me tell you a bit about me and my sculpture.  I was born in Newport, RI and luckily enough my parents dragged me around the world a bit as a kid forcing me to look at churches in Italy, mountains in Austria, beaches in France, and bowling alleys in Germany. We stayed in Europe for four years, my mother, my father, my sister and I.  You could say I got around a bit, not bad for a six year old.

We came back to Newport and I finished school, but it was the 4 years of learning languages, eating great foods and absorbing cultures that I feel most grateful for.  An early exposure to the ornamentation in some of these churches and cathedrals stuck in my head, as one can see in my seemingly obsessive distraction to recreate some of these iconographic pieces of my own (check out current work on gallery page).

My most recent sculptures are created by piecing together antique copper and brass stampings I find in old warehouses mostly in the Northeast, USA.  Many of these stampings were created in the early 1900’s and used to embellish furniture, clocks, and even handbags.  Much of it produced for jewelry.  I solder the small decorative stampings together then embellish the icons, crosses with glass stones, many from Italy and Austria.  Each piece is unique and signed.  The 8”/6” pieces (crosses) run from $70 - $150.USA.  My Studio is small; I work alone, and love it.  Creating a piece of art is relaxing and somehow brings me peace of mind, a feeling of balance and accomplishment.

I’ve been in KW now for about 13 years and spend much of my time sailing, windsurfing, diving and of course working in my studio.  I currently sell my work in five places, two in Key West, also Provincetown, MA Rehoboth Beach, DE and Summit, NJ.

I am currently working on some larger projects incorporating more found and recycled brass and copper.  Old copper flashing from buildings is the best. This is a short intro to my site and my life.  Check it out; let me know what you think.
